A FREE, all-ages monthly party taking place the first Thursday of every month from 5-10pm in the streets of Downtown San Francisco.

Through lush pop-up town squares, playful school streets, and other experimental gathering spaces, Green Streets invite neighbors slow down, get to know one another, and experience the potential of their streets.

We’re creating pop-up town squares including lush greenery, art, seating, and music in vacant parking lots and roadways to reimagine San Francisco’s streets as vibrant community gathering places.

With 17 cleanups across 15 neighborhoods, we partner with Refuse Refuse, DPW, and local community groups to organize these impactful weekly trash clean ups.

An international call for ideas that identify new urban possibilities for downtown San Francisco’s Market Street, responding to the disruptions caused by the pandemic, remote work, and other cultural changes. 

The Civic Joy Fund helps everyday people turn a spark of civic energy into a real, public event that makes a street or neighborhood more joyful and connected. We see our streets as a stage for civic life, and this program aims to bring more cities into the spotlight. 

Weird intersections. San Francisco is full of them! Pocket Plazas make these spaces more intuitive and enjoyable with the help of natural amenities. Just look at Masonic & Geary for an example of fully envisioned Pocket Plaza. 

School Streets are street closures around schools that create safer, more welcoming spaces by limiting car access at school drop-off and pick-up times.

Community Corners add simple amenities like murals and planters to spaces by crosswalks that make them more beautiful, welcoming, and safe.
