Cosmo Court

Greetings from Cosmo Court!

This week, a Pop-Up Town Square will sprout in a neighborhood desperately in need of more open space.

In Lower Nob Hill, we’re turning a parking lot on Cosmo Place into a temporary oasis. From November 5th - 7th, the goal is to make Cosmo the most inviting place in the neighborhood—and a preview of what's possible. There will be plenty of greenery, seating, and of course, art!

Don’t miss out on the main event on November 6th from 4-9pm. Cosmo Court will be in full swing with a DJ, bar, free food, and interactive art.

Cosmo Court was created in response to neighbors’ desire for more open space in one of San Francisco’s densest neighborhoods. It’s part of an engagement process to understand how new green amenities resonate with the community. It’s an opportunity to experience an alternative future, and spark a conversation about the green space that this neighborhood is dreaming about.

Be sure to email your city representatives your thoughts, and fill out this survey to provide feedback!

Pop-up Town Squares are designed as pilot projects. This iterative approach helps create community buy-in and foster local stewardship. By creating opportunities to test, refine, and improve these new public spaces, we can experience a greener public realm, and a more connected community.

A Green Streets Project

Green Streets is an emerging initiative of the Civic Joy Fund that reimagines underutilized public spaces. This growing network of experimental green spaces connects San Franciscans to their neighborhood villages, and to each other.
