The Civic Joy Fund is revitalizing San Francisco by investing in projects that bring joy to the streets. From neighborhood night markets to Downtown First Thursdays and beyond, our work celebrates the creativity and civic spirit that make San Francisco shine.
Our grant program supports community-driven ideas that transform public spaces into places of joy, belonging, and shared experience. Whether it’s a festival, pop-up activation, or volunteer-led event, we’re looking for projects that help re-energize neighborhoods, strengthen community ties, and spark lasting civic pride.
Application Process
We welcome proposals from community groups, nonprofits, artists, and individuals who share our belief that joy is an essential part of civic health.
Proposals should seek to activate the streets, engage local communities, and be free of charge for event attendees.
Submit your idea using the form below. Our team reviews proposals on a rolling basis and aims to respond within 2-4 weeks.
